the forces that saved music

they say that we learn from history. Thats's mostly appopriated to holocaust talk. shit that went down in germany and rwanda, and the world wars in europe. but outside war mongering there is art. There are a few people that saved this art. and i commend them. for without them there would be no black lips. there would be no rock and roll as we know it.
it started with alan lomax and his father recording the desparate blues and soul that was the american south. what followed was a wave of white motherfuckers in a procession of awe, devouring theses strange beautiful sounds for years to come. I love amaerica for this, and all its many flaws and faults. NORTON records, CRYPT records and BOMP records have documented american roots and pop music. these people are not only music lovers but historians of the utmost degree. they are vital to the continuation of what we love. i love them and you shuold too. they are all we've got left to remember our fathers

I completely agree....any piece of music that I have ever produced has in some way been influenced by what has come before me. I would love to show you some of my work, in hopes that you guys could perhaps show me some direction....after all, you were one of the above mentioned influences to our music. Please contact me whenever the troubles of the road are not plaguing you. Ill be looking forward to your response. MRPeacock@ou.edu

You guys make really good music. I got my first speeding ticket in 4 years last week and I think it's because I was listening to Cold Hands. I made sure it won't happen anymore though, I put a rainbow sticker on the back of my car and now I only listen to Feeling Gay while driving. I'd love to catch a show, you guys play in Vancouver or Seattle anytime soon?

I do, but now the persistence of vision is making my cones and rods show lines

Bomp! truly is a quality record label. I think they put out "Methodrone" by the brian jonestown massacre. That is one of my favorites. You guys must feel really proud to have release records on such a fine label. Come play in Santa Cruz california. We need rocknroll in our humble college town.
